Watches: The types that men prefer

Let’s bring forth the technical classifications first: Watches are either analog or digital though there have also come up the hybrids i.e. a digital mechanism that makes the hands tick; these are what we commonly term the quartz watches. The sports watches (e.g. G-Shocks) usually fall under the digital category while the analog or spring powered (mechanical) ones are the traditional types and also, more expensive than the hybrid or purely digital watches. However, if you like talking about craftsmanship and beauty, nothing quite surpasses more than the spring powered analog ones. The Rolex and the Omega fall under this category, also the Breitling and Vacheron Constantin.

Even if you want to monitor your blood pressure, the modern technology gives you a chance for that as well; if the FM is your choice or a custom list of songs, watches have embraced FM and mp3 playing facilities in them. However, question remains, what suits the most?
That’s a tough question; though everybody prefers playing according to their individual taste, there are times when you need to match your preferences to your activities. You cannot wear a sports watch at work unless it’s Friday; similarly, you cannot wear a mechanical chronograph if you are going hunting in the woods. This is why most people keep three different watches to go with; while the first one is usually a sober-looking one (e.g. Omega Seamaster) for work, for weekends at the local pub, it’s usually a Fossil chrono- while for the woods, it’s usually in the lines of the G-Shock. So that’s what you need to understand – it’s always better to look at the purpose first before chipping in the dollars.
