How to choose ear-rings for the occasion
Ear-rings are accessories that help to complement your face and your hair but sometimes it is hard to know which ones to wear for what occasion and with which outfit.
As a rule if you have very short hair you shouldn’t choose any that are too big or too long because it will detract from your face rather than enhancing it.

A head with short hair appears smaller than one with long hair and so can’t carry anything too heavy as it will also look unbalanced. Ear-rings that would be suitable are silver loops for every day, pearl studs for something a little more formal, and for the evening and to be worn with say a cocktail dress the a pair of Swarovski ear-rings that shine and sparkle and dangle down a little but not too much, no further than in line with your chin.
For those with long hair, ear-rings can usually be much larger and more extravagant because here the opposite to someone with short hair occurs and a head with long hair appears much larger so amongst all that hair small ear-rings would seem a little lost and might not even get noticed. This of course also depends on how you wear your long hair because if you tie it back, well then you could do okay wearing a smaller pair of ear-rings.
But assuming you wear your long hair loose and cascading down you need to choose a pair that stand out. You could choose some larger and thicker than normal loops for the day, a pair of large flat orbs with let’s say an emerald coloured stone in the middle for the more formal occasion and of course you could get away with wearing dangly ear-rings that reached down to your collar bone for any very formal evening event.
